Peek at the Week

Week of December 13th-17th

5th Grade Reader’s Workshop

The readers of fifth grade will be sequencing the events of the text in chronological order. As they are sequencing events, they will use transitional words to help them identify the order. The fifth graders will also be taking the unit test which is composed of the students reading passages and answering questions about the passage. This test accounts for 30% of the quarter grade.

6th Grade Reader’s Workshop

The readers of sixth grade will be able to identify the author’s purpose of the text that they are reading. They will be able to support the author’s purpose with specific details that happened in the text. As the readers are reading, it is always a good idea to identify the page number of the evidence so that they are able to go back in the text to support their ideas. The readers of sixth grade will also take the Unit 3 test which is composed of the students reading passages and answering questions about the passage.

5th and 6th Grade Writer’s Workshop
