Room 207

Peek at the Week

Week of May 28th-May 31st

Math: Solve problems involving measurement and conversion of measurements.

The fourth graders will first plot data on a line plot.  They will also add mixed numbers to find the perimeter of rectangles.  Finally, they will solve problems adding decimals.

Writing: Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences.

The fourth grade writers will finish their Greek Myth final drafts.  Throughout the week, they will be encouraged to begin their sentences in a variety of ways, use transitional words, and end their writing in an unforgettable way.

Reading: Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or drama drawing on specific details in the text.

As the fourth graders continue to read Greek Myths, they will use the characters, words, or actions of the Greek gods to describe them with a character trait.  Last week, the fourth graders were assigned a Greek god or goddess research report. These reports will be due on Friday, May 31st. Extra copies of the form can be found on the Room 207 blog.

The fourth graders will take the reading portion of the NWEA on Thursday, May 30th.  Please make sure that your fourth grader comes to school well rested and on time. Math will be administered on Thursday, June 6th.
