Report Card Pick Up

Chicago Public Schools have assigned Wednesday, April 10th, as report card pick up day.  The students of Room 207 will be leading the conference. Please make sure that your fourth grader is with you at the conference.  If you have not already signed up for a time, please contact me to do so.

Math: Solve problems involving measurement and conversion of measurements.

We will begin the third quarter with converting between cups, pints, and gallons.  Please review these measurements with your fourth grader using kitchen measuring utensils.  During the rest of the week, we will multiplying fractions by whole numbers. The students will also be able to identify the multiples of a unit fraction.

Writing: Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

The fourth grade writers will continue to write poetry for poetry month. The teacher will continue to read Poetry Matters by Ralph Fletcher.  The students will be inspired to write poems with alliteration, repetition, similes, metaphors, and personification.

Reading: Demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word meanings.
